Shakira’s one-week-old son Sasha Piqué Mebarak made his public debut on Thursday when his Colombian pop princess mum introduced him to the world on the Unicef World Baby Shower website, which aims to help poverty-stricken people around the world, the Hello Magazine reports.
The singer, who turned 38 days after welcoming her second son in Barcelona on 29 January, posted a close-up of her newborn – whose brunette locks seem to have been styled into the same quiff worn by his Barcelona FC player dad Gerard Piqué.
She tweeted: “We’d like to introduce you to Sasha Piqué Mebarak – to meet him go to worldbabyshower.org”. When fans clicked on the link to the Unicef site they were treated to the very first picture of Sasha, along with a previously-seen picture of Shakira and Gerard when she was pregnant.
The website reads: “Welcome to Shakira and Gerard Piqué’s World Baby Shower with UNICEF.
It goes on to encourage readers to donate for the good cause: “With the purchase of an Inspired Gift you can save thousands of lives and give babies a healthy start in life.”
“This is more than a shower, it’s a global movement to save lives. You can be part of it by buying a UNICEF Inspired Gift.”
