Armenian-Uruguayan model Johana Riva Garabetian represents Uruguay at Miss Universe 2014 Beauty Contest.  She was crowned Miss Uruguay 2014.

Born in Montevideo, she grew up with her mother and grandparents. At 16 she competed in a national beauty contest and from then decided to pursue more competitions. At 19, she decided to move to Lima, Perú, where she worked towards her goal of modeling for catalogues, commercials and fashion shows for big designers and brands. She would love to meet Ricky Martin as she has been a long time fan.

Miss Universe 2014 contestants showed off their country’s traditional garments at the National Costume show on 21 January in Miami, Florida.

The beauty pageant organizers revealed the top five contestants and they are: Miss Universe Argentina Valentina Ferrer, Miss Universe Canada Chanel Beckenlehner, Miss Universe Germany Josefin Donat, Miss Universe India Noyonita Lodh and Miss Universe Indonesia Elvira Devinamira.

The contestant with the highest number of votes will be the National Costume Fan Vote Winner, which will be announced during the 63rd Miss Universe pageant finale.

Miss Universe 2014 finals will be held at the FIU Arena on Sunday, Jan. 25 where the next Miss Universe queen will be crowned. After reigning for more than a year, Miss Universe 2013 Gabriela Isler will crown her successor with the new MU crown made by Diamonds International Corporation.
