Chinese investments in Armenia increase

The Armenia trade representative in China Hrant Abajyan has introduced the Armenian business environment, its potential and opportunities, and the investment advantages to the Chinese businessmen and investors in the Central Office of the International Chamber of Commerce of the Private Sector of China, Beijing.

According to the Press Service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments of Armenia, particularly the investment programs of North-South Road Corridor and Armenia-Iran railway construction were introduced, as well as projects in several directions of the energy sphere. Projects concerning fish farming development and hothouse farms construction, a copper foundry construction and a number of other programs were also introduced to the investors.

The program of the Meghri free economic zone formation was touched upon.

More than 40 representatives of state and private structures participated in the meeting.

Hrant Abajyan mentioned that the interest on China’s part is large enough especially in the infrastructure and mining industry spheres.

According to Abajyan, meetings and other events have been held permanently and have stimulated increase in the amount of Chinese investments in Armenia.
