The Republican Party of Armenia is holding its second Economic Congress dedicated to Armenia’s membership in the Customs Union, the opportunities and challenges. The messages of the Armenian President and the Russian Prime Minister were read out at the beginning of the forum.
It was noted in the President’s address that “there is no obstacle for Armenia’s accession to the Customs Union at this point.” The political agenda has been set up, the roadmap has been confirmed. “Armenia has implemented 70% of the commitments; the signing of international legal documents is expected in the future.”
The participants of the forum discussed the benefits and risks connected with the perspectives of Eurasian integration.
“The landmark decision of September 3 will have a significant impact on Armenia,” PM Tigran Sargsyan said in his speech.
“The platform shaped on the economic space of the Customs Union is closer to out country’s economic system,” he said. He added that the decision to join the CU has an obvious military-political and security component.
