Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received Armenian Professor Ara Darzi, Member of the UK House of Lords and member of the Board of Trustees of the Armenian National Competitiveness Foundation.
Greeting the guest, the Prime Minister noted: “We’re glad you are cooperating with the Armenian National Competitiveness Foundation. It has been created under the principle of cooperation between the private and the public sectors and aims to raise the competitiveness of the Republic of Armenia and increase the potential of the Armenian nation. Our first long-term objective is the implementation of reforms in the field of education, the medium-term objective is healthcare, and the short-term objective is tourism.”
Tigran Sargsyan noted that henceforth the foundation’s activity will be targeted at attracting trans-national corporations to our country and promoting the development of small and medium-sized businesses.
Mr. Darzi said it’s a great honor for him to be a member of the Board of Trustees of the Armenian National Competitiveness Foundation. He said he shares the government’s views on the directions of the Foundation’s activity and expressed his readiness to contribute to the implementation of its programs.
The interlocutors exchanged views on the reforms implemented in the sphere of healthcare. Mr. Darzi presented the international experience of health reforms. He informed that he discussed a wide range of issues and the perspectives of development during today’s meeting with Armenian Minister of Healthcare
