A Brazilian delegation led by Foreign Minister Aloysio Nunes Ferreira visited the Tsitsernakaberd memorial today.
The guests laid a wreath at the Memorial to the Armenian Genocide victims and paid tribute to the memory of holy martyrs with a moment of silence.
Acting Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum (AGMI) Gevorg Vardanyan briefed the Brazilian Foreign Minister on the history of construction of the memorial. Aloysio Nunes Ferreira visited AGMI, got acquainted with documents testifying to the Armenian Genocide and left a note in the guestbook.
The Minister planted a fir tree in the Memory Alley.
Aloysio Nunes Ferreira was the initiator of adoption of a resolution on the recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide by the Brazilian Senate on May 27, 2015.
