Naira Zohrabyan to replace Gagik Tsarukyan as Prosperous Armenia Party leader

Leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) Gagik Tsarukyan will step down at tomorrow’s congress of the Party, members of PAP faction Mikael Melkumyan told reporters today. He will also refuse from his mandate as Member of the National Assembly.

Melkumyan said Naira Zohrabyan is the only candidate to replace Tsarukyan as leader of the party. “She has a stable political past and future,” he said.

Melkumyan said also that ex-Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanyan has also refused from the parliamentary seat, but has not expressed the will to leave the Party.

Head of the Public Relations Department of the National Assembly Arsen Babayan told Public Radio of Armenia that Oskanian has not an applied to refuse from the mandate.
