Vardan Ayvazyan named as the most likely candidate for Deputy PM

Following the resignation of Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Territorial Administration, Armen Gevorgyan, this post in the Government still remains vacant. Member of Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) faction of Armenian parliament, Chairman of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Vardan Ayvazyan is named as the most likely candidate for Deputy Prime Minister and Territorial Administration Minister, “168 Hours” reports. In 2001-2007, 52-year-old member of parliament was Armenia’s Minister of Nature Protection.

Other likely candidates include Transport Minister Gagik Beglaryan, Kotayk Governor Aram Harutyunyan, Chief of Government Staff – Minister David Harutyunyan, and ARFD member David Lokyan.
