Armenia’s former Police chief Hayk Harutyunyan was found dead at home at about 23:30 on September 23. Head of Police Media Department Edgar Janoyan confirmed the news to Public Radio of Armenia.
According to preliminary information, Harutyunyan committed suicide.
The Kotayk Investigative Department is carrying out investigation into the circumstances of the case.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 110.1 of the Criminal Code.
Hayk Harutyunyan was the chief of Police between 2003 and 2008.
