Armenia’s Lake Sevan on a photo taken from the space

Russian cosmonaut Sergey Ryazansky has published the photos of Lake Sevan and Armenia’s capital Yerevan taken from the space.

“Lake Sevan is the largest body of water in Armenia and the Caucasus region, and one of the largest freshwater high-altitude lakes in Eurasia. The lake is situated in Gegharkunik Province, at an altitude of 1,900 m above sea level,” Ryazansky writes.

On Yerevan the cosmonaut writes: “Yerevan does not look like other capitals – people here are not in a hurry, the city is moving at its measured pace. And the Cascade, one of the symbols of Yerevan, is well-known far beyond its borders.”
