Armenia posts 9.9 percent growth in electricity exports

The electricity exports from Armenia have grown by 9.9 percent over the past eight months. Armenia has exported a total of 955 million kWh of electricity against 868 kWh last year, the Armenian Ministry of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources informs.

Iran has been the main consumer. Energy supplies to Georgia have also been restored, with the exports to the country amounting to 116 million kWh. The exports to Armenia reached 805 million kWh.

A 20% growth of exports is projected by the end of the year, the Ministry said.

The domestic consumption totaled 4.1 billion kWh – 276 million kWh or 7.2 percent more than last year.
