Armenia’s Independence Day to be celebrated at St. Vartan Cathedral in New York

A celebration of the 26th anniversary of the Republic of Armenia will be broadcast live from St. Vartan Armenian Cathedral in New York, on the evening of Thursday, September 21: Armenia’s Independence Day.

The evening will begin with the Thanksgiving Prayer for the Republic of Armenia, followed by a concert featuring cellist Laura Navasardian, pianist Michael Kakossian Khoury, violinist Simon Hagopian-Rogers, and pianist Şahan Arzruni.

Armenia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian will be the guest of honor, and deliver remarks.

The concert is being organized by the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Armenia to the United Nations, with the participation of regional and national Armenian organizations. Armenia’s UN Ambassador Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, Archbishop Khajag Barsamian, and Archbishop Oshagan Choloyan will be among the dignitaries in attendance.
