Moldova’s President to visit Armenia this fall

Moldova’s President Igor Dodon will pay an official visit to Armenia this autumn, the country’s Prime Minister Pavel Filip said at a meeting with Armenia’s Ambassador to Moldova Jivan Mivsisyan.

The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to the perspectives of development of Armenian-Moldovan relations, intensification of trade-economic cooperation, other issues of bilateral interest.

PM Pavel Filip hailed the opening of the Armenian Embassy in Moldova, noting that it will contribute to the development and reinforcement of bilateral political dialogue and cooperation.

He noted that the first sitting of the Armenian-Moldovan Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation to be held in Yerevan in November will be an important milestone in the development of trade-economic ties.

Ambassador Movsisyan, in turn, presented the steps the Armenian government takes to encourage foreign investments and boost export of Armenian goods.

The parties also referred to issues of transport communication, particularly the use of the Port of Giurgiulești and the perspectives of launching Kishinev –Yerevan-Kishinev flights.
