Every year the Feast of the Assumption of St. Mary, the Holy Mother of God is celebrated by the Armenian Church on the Sunday closest to August 15. This year, the Feast will be celebrated on August 13.
During the Feast of the Assumption of St. Mary, the Ceremony of the Blessing of the Grapes is conducted, and the harvest for the entire year is blessed. For Armenian Apostolic Church grapes are the symbol of harvest.
