The most frequent names given to the new born girls in Armenia this year are Maria and Nare. Mane, Marie, Mariam, Ani, Anahit, Angelina, Elen, Milena are also on the list, Karine Kuyumjyan, head of the population census and demography department of the National Statistics Service, said at a press conference at «Armenpress’» press hall. The names popular among boys are Davit, Narek, Tigran, Hayk, Alex, Gor, Mark, Samvel, Ara, Arthur. In the first half of the current year 110 boys are born against 100 girls, while last year the numbers were 112 against 100 respectively.
