Armenia, Iran to cooperate in science and research

Armenia and Iran have inked a memorandum of Understanding, under which the parties will cooperate in education, science and research.  The document was signed by Armenian Minister of Education and Science Levon Mkrtchyan, and Iran’s visiting Minister of Science, Research and Technology Mohamamd Farhadi.

Under the MoU, the parties will promote cooperation between scientific organizations, universities and research institutions of the two countries and reinforce ties between the scientific communities of the two countries.

The sides will also coordinate the funding of joint research projects in areas of mutual interest, namely physics, biology, biotechnology, nanotechnology, water sciences and engineering, environmental sciences, high performance computing, technologies and innovations, language and culture, etc.

The two countries will boost the cooperation between research institutions by exchanging information about education systems and programs. They will also set up a joint commission on education, research and technologies, which will hold meetings once in two years.
