President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon visited the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial today, accompanied by Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian and Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan.
Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute Hayk Demoyan briefed Mr. Rahmon on the history of construction of the monument.
The President of Tajikistan laid flowers at the memorial to Armenian Genocide victims and paid tribute to their memory with a minute of silence.
Emomali Rahmon toured the Memory Alley and watered the fir-tree he had planted back in 2003.
The President of Tajikistan has arrived in Armenia at the invitation of President Serzh Sargsyan.
