Armenian soldier killed in Azeri shelling

The Azerbaijani side kept violating the agreement on ceasefire last night, using artillery weapons of different calibers, infantry fighting vehicles,  60 mm mortars and automatic grenade launchers, the NKR Defense Ministry reports.

More intensive shelling was reported in the southeastern (Hadrut) and eastern (Martuni) directions of the line of contact.

Azerbaijan resorted to destabilizing and provocative actions as the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan were holding discussions in Vienna with the mediation of the Minsk Group co-chairing countries.

Private of the NKR Defense Army Khachatur Vardan Harutyunyan, born in 1996, was killed in Azeri shelling at one of the Defense Army posts located in the southern direction. Probe into the details of the case is under way.

The NKR Defense Ministry shares the sorrow of the heavy loss and expresses its condolences to the family and friends of the fallen soldier.

The Defense Ministry declares that the Azerbaijani side bears full responsibility fo the tension at the line of contact.
