Armenian Foreign Minister meets NATO’s Deputy Assistant Secretary General

On March 2, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received Jonathan Parish, NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Defence Policy and Planning.

Welcoming the guest, Minister Nalbandian positively assessed the achievements reached as a result of Armenia-NATO continuous cooperation within the frameworks of different programs.

Expressing gratitude for the reception, NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary General mentioned that relations between Armenia and North Atlantic Alliance are on high level and attached importance to the implementation of Armenia-NATO Individual Partnership Action Plan 2014-2016 (IPAP).

The sides reflected on Armenia-NATO political dialogue, Armenia’s effective participation in international peacekeeping operations, implementation of reforms in the RA Armed Forces.

Preparations for the meeting North Atlantic Council in 28+Armenia format to-be-held next week, were on the agenda.

Foreign Minister Nalbandian presented efforts of Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs in peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, stressing the necessity to support the mediators’ mission.
