President Serzh Sargsyan received today His Holiness Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II and Swiss benefactors Mr. Tigran Izmirlian and Mrs. Helena Izmirlian. The President of Armenia highly praised charity programs implemented through the years by the Izmirlian Foundation in Armenia and Artsakh which today have been augmented by another important initiative – reopening of the Izmirlian Medical Center in Yerevan which will be functioning under the auspices of the Armenian Church, President’s Press Office reports.
President Serzh Sargsyan decorated the national benefactor Tigran Izmirlian with one of the highest state awards – Saint Mesrop Mashtots Order for strengthening Armenia-Diaspora relations and for years-long patriotic activities. Present at the award ceremony were members of the Izmirlian family.
Benefactor Tigran Izmirlian expressed gratitude to the President for awarding him with the high state award and words of appreciation and underscored that thanks to his dedicated parents he and his family are conducting patriotic work of which he is immensely proud. “Armenia is and will always be in our hearts,” the national benefactor assured on behalf of the Izmirlian family. He also stressed the importance of the Armenian Church in uniting Armenians all over the world and in spearheading their patriotic undertakings.
