President Serzh Sargsyan received the EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy Štefan Füle.
The parties exchanged views on Armenia-European Union relations and cooperation, prospects of building these relations and developing future cooperation based on the achievements registered so far as a result of mutual efforts. They also spoke about the agenda items and preparatory works for the forthcoming Eastern Partnership Summit in Vilnius.
At the meeting, President Serzh Sargsyan reiterated Armenia’s determination to carry on with the large-scale reforms which constitute the pivot of Armenia-EU relations and continue developing relations with the European Union in a constructive and dynamic spirit.
Serzh Sargsyan underscored his conviction that Armenia should continue its development upon the vision of democracy, protection of human rights, and the rule of law.
Commissioner Füle noted that the EU respected the free choice of its partners and expected to hear during that meeting ideas and approaches which were aimed at building up relations based on the existing positive accomplishments.
