Aronian retains second place in FIDE ranking

FIDE has published the July list of strongest chess players of the world, with Armenian Grand Master Levon Aronian retaining the second spot with 2,813 points.

Magnus Carlsen of Norway tops the rating with 2,862 points, Italy’s Fabiano Caruana is third with 2,796 points.

Armenian GMs Sergei Movsesian (49th), Vladimir Akopian (56th), Gabriel Sargissian (72ns) and Tigran L. Petrosian (85th) are also included in the list of top 100 players.
