Armenia is concerned with the supply of arms by Russian to Azerbaijan, although it does not mean it distorts the military balance, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan told reporters today. He added that Armenia also gets weapons from Russia.
Touching upon the recent belligerent statements of Azerbaijan, the Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister said “these statements are made by a country, which spends each day crying after the defeat. All this is meant for the domestic audience, as keeping the image of the external enemy alive helps feed the hereditary authoritarian regime.”
According to Shavarsh Kocharyan, the Minsk Group Co-Chairs are aspiring to prevent the fragile ceasefire from growing into military actions. However, Azerbaijan is trying to get rid of the format of the Minsk Group co-chairmanship, he added.
