Since June 21, 982 every year the Ministry of Culture of France organizes Fête de la Musique – an event gathering musicians and singers, beginners and professionals, to celebrate the World Music Day.
Fête de la Musique is celebrated in Armenia since 2007 and is coordinated by the Embassy of France in Armenia, the Ministry of Culture of Armenia and the Yerevan Municipality. Since 2010 Orange is the official partner of the event in Armenia.
This year World Music Day is dedicated to Edith Piaf, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of her death. In contrast to previous years, this year, in addition to different concerts organized in the capital city, a live concert of amateur musicians will be held on the premises of the French Embassy in Armenia.
