On June 7 Armenia will host the national team of Malta for the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier. “We play for victory in every match,” head coach of the Armenian national team Vardan Sedrakyan told a press conference today.

“If we win every game, we’ll qualify for the World Cup,” Minasyan said. The coach said Karlen Mkrtchyan has an injury, but voiced hope he would be able to appear on the pitch.

Yura Movsisyan joined the national team later due to his trip to the United States, he said, adding there are no privileged players in the team.

Speaking about the players, he said Norair Aslanyan has a good potential. The head coach stressed that he would follow attentively the game of the youth team.

“Karen Muradyan and Varazdat Haronyan will play for the youth team today and will join the national team tomorrow. For me, the main goal is to defeat Malta,” he added.

Minasyan said Malta are no an easy opponents, but they will do their best to win the match. “We will be playing in a more attacking style this time, but we will not disregard defense either. To keep a balance is very important here,” Minasyan explained.

The Armenia-Malta qualifier will take place at “Hanrapatakan” (Republican) Stadium on June 7, at 8 p.m. Yerevan time.
