Armenia, Kuwait interested in the further development of cooperation

Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan received today Ali Fahd Al-Rashid, President of the National Assembly of the State of Kuwait.

The parties discussed the Armenian-Kuwaiti relations, particularly issues related to inter-parliamentary cooperation.

Hovik Abrahamyan hailed the political and economic relations between the two countries, but said there is a great potential for the further reinforcement and development.

Ali Fahd Al-Rashid, in turn, expressed conviction that his official visit to Armenia would be an important impetus to the development of bilateral cooperation. Fahd Al-Rashidr said his country is interested in the development of trade-economic and scientific-cultural ties with Armenia.

Kuwait is making huge investments in foreign countries, including Armenia. In particular, the construction of the Mastara Basin becomes possible thanks to the contribution of the Kuwait Development Fund. The Armenian side has presented the $27 mln project to the Fund, Hovik Abrahamyan said.

Touching upon the events in Syria, the Speakers said they stand for peaceful settlement of the issue.
