Armenian President, Czech FM discuss issues of economic cooperation

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan received Czech Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Karel Schwarzenberg.

The interlocutors hailed the relations between Armenia and the Czech Republic and intensification of the political dialogue, which is evidenced by the opening of Embassies in Yerevan and Prague, the cooperation within international organizations and active contacts on the inter-parliamentary level.

The Armenian President and the Czech Foreign Minister referred to the perspectives of increasing the commodity turnover between the two countries, attaching importance to the development of economic cooperation in spheres of reciprocal interest.

The parties voiced hope that the Armenian-Czech business forum held in Yerevan would open broad opportunities for increasing the volume of commodity turnover, working out and implementing joint business programs and promoting investments.

During the meeting reference was made to the Armenia-EU cooperation, the progress Armenia has registered within the framework of the Eastern Partnership Program, as well as the process of settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh issue and regional developments.
