Putin appoints new Ambassador to Armenia

Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed Ivan Volynkin as Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia, RIA Novosti informs.

Before the appointment Volynkin served as deputy head of the Secretariat General of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He is replacing Vyacheslav Kovalenko, who served as Russian Ambassador to Armenia since 2009.
