The Color of Pomegranates to be screened in Turkey

Sergey Parajanov’s “The Color of Pomegranates” will be screened in Istanbul as part of an event dedicated to the 300th birth anniversary of Sayat Nova.

The event initiated by the Armenian Culture and Support Union is scheduled for November 25, the Istanbul-based “Agos” weekly reports.

Last week Turkey’s Minister of Culture and Tourism Ertugrul Gunay announced plans to publish a book about Sayat-Nova in Turkey as part of broader efforts highlighting the importance of publishing works of representatives of other cultures.

“We are planning to publish a memorial book dedicated to great Armenian singer Sayat-Nova,” the Minister said.
