CPFS: Ministry of Territorial Administration the most transparent government agency

The Committee to Protect Freedom of Speech (CPFS) has published the results of the study conducted between May and September 2014, which assesses the level of transparency of state agencies. Official websites of 44 agencies, including 34 Ministries and ten Governor’s Offices have been studied.

Head of the Committee to Protect Freedom of Speech Ashot Melikyan said today that the survey has been conducted against 146 standards. The study has considered the existence of information, its completeness, urgency and accessibility. Through coordination of all standards the CPFS has formed a coefficient of information transparency of the websites and has compiled the rating.

“The Ministry of Territorial Administration tops the list with 99.36% of transparency, followed by the State Migration Service and the Ministry of Agriculture,” Ashot Melikyan told reporters today.

“The three less transparent government agencies include the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, the State Commission of Television and Radio and the State Nuclear Safety Regulatory Committеe,” he added.

As for the Governor’s Offices, Kotayk was the best, while Syunik was the worst.
