Armenian FM briefs CSTO colleagues on efforts towards Karabakh peace

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian today briefed the Foreign Ministers of CSTO member states on the efforts of Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs towards furthering the process of settlement of the Karabakh conflict.

Armenia’s top diplomat also presented Baku’s actions aimed at frustrating those efforts, namely the refusal to implement the agreements reached in Vienna and St. Petersburg, military provocations and the subsequent escalation of the situation.

Edward Nalbandian presented Armenia’s views on the developments in Syria, the programs of support for refugees that have found shelter in Armenia, as well as the details of provision of humanitarian aid to the people of Syria.

During the meeting the Foreign Ministers exchanged views on cooperation between CSTO and other regional and international organizations.

The diplomats also referred to the process of implementation of provisions of the Yerevan Declaration adopted by the CSTO Collective Security Council in 2016, the priorities of the Belarusian presidency of the CSTO, issues affecting global and regional security, the situation in Central Asia and South Caucasus, as well as the developments in the Middle East and efforts towards establishing stability in Afghanistan.
