President Armen Sarkissian had a phone conversation with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjørn Jagland.
The parties discussed the domestic situation in Armenia and stressed the importance of reaching a solution through a constructive dialogue, in the framework of the Constitution and the law.
The President of Armenia hailed assistance provided by the Council of Europe to the reformation in our country and reiterated Armenia’s commitment to democracy and the rule of law.
Mr. Jagland in his turn underscored the willingness to provide expert assistance for the implementation of legal reforms if necessary.
President Sarkissian invited the Secretary General of the Council of Europe to visit Armenia at the time convenient for him.
