Jaylen Fryberg shot students ‘over a girl’

A 14-year-old gunman, Jaylen Ray Fryberg opened fire in a crowded school cafeteria in Washington State, killing one teenager and critically injuring three others, The Telegraph reports.

Witnesses said the gunman stood on a table in the cafeteria of Marysville-Pilchuck High School outside Seattle, and opened fire at close range. Fryberg then turned the gun on himself and died at the scene on Friday.

According to classmates and family members Fryberg, a proud Native American from the local Tulalip Tribtes, had been angered by a dispute over his girlfriend.

Jaylen’s cousin – 16-year-old Heaven Arbuckle – said he wasn’t a bad kid, he just made a mistake, adding the shooting was over a girl.

Tthis fatal fatal “mistake” took the lives of two students, including the gunman and left four ones seriously injured.
