Musicians of WCIT World Orchestra visit Matenadaran

Musicians of the WCIT World Orchestra visited the Matenadaran Repository of Ancient Manuscripts today.

Seventy-five musicians from 14 countries have been invited to perform the first ever concert of music written live by artificial intelligence (AI), in which the musicians perform the score as it is being written.

The idea for the free outdoor concert at Republic Square comes from Sergey Smbatyan, Music Director of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra.

The guests also visited the Garni Temple and Geghard Monastery on Friday. Impressed by Armenia’s culture, the musicians pledged to visit Armenia soon as tourists.

The WCIT World Orchestra will feature another 30 musicians from Armenia and will perform under the baton of Sergey Smbatyan. The invited musicians represent Canada, the Netherlands, Malasia, the United States, Greece, Taiwan, Spain, Japan, France, Denmark, Mexico, Brazil, Australia and India.

The concert at the Republic Square will mark the start of the World Congress on IT that will be held from October 6 to 9.
