Surik Khachatryan was re-appointed today as governor of Armenia’s southern province of Syunik. Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan congratulated him on appointment at a cabinet meeting this morning.
Earlier this month, Khachatryan’s successor Vahe Hakobyan submitted his resignation and was later appointed head of the State Water Resources Committee
Khachatryan, a member of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia, led Syunik as governor until June 2013 when he resigned over a deadly shooting incident near his house in Goris.
