Former Armenian President Robert Kocharyan, who heads the electoral list of the Armenia Alliance, cast his ballot in the parliamentary elections, saying he voted for a protected, secure, prosperous Armenia that preserves its national identity.
Speaking to reporters after voting, Kocharyan said he was optimistic about his alliance’s chances of winning the election.
According to Kocharyan, an Armenia Alliance victory would pave the way for radical changes in line with the coalition’s electoral program.
Asked about his expectations from the vote, the former president said he hopes the elections will bring about substantial changes capable of halting what he described as a continuous retreat from principles and a further loss of sovereignty.
