Voter turnout reaches 14.48% by 11 a.m. in Armenia’s parliamentary elections

More than 362,000 voters had cast their ballots by 11:00 a.m. in Armenia’s parliamentary elections, according to data released by the Central Electoral Commission (CEC).

The CEC reported that 362,657 citizens participated in the vote out of 2,505,102 eligible voters nationwide, bringing turnout to 14.48% three hours after polling stations opened.

Among Armenia’s regions, Tavush recorded the highest voter turnout at 17.84%, followed closely by Syunik with 17.55%. Kotayk also reported relatively strong participation, with 16.02% of eligible voters casting ballots.

Turnout figures by region as of 11:00 a.m. were as follows:

  • Yerevan – 14.46%
  • Aragatsotn – 14.79%
  • Ararat – 14.33%
  • Armavir – 12.63%
  • Gegharkunik – 12.98%
  • Lori – 14.44%
  • Kotayk – 16.02%
  • Shirak – 12.60%
  • Syunik – 17.55%
  • Vayots Dzor – 15.82%
  • Tavush – 17.84%

The lowest turnout levels were recorded in Shirak (12.60%) and Armavir (12.63%), while participation in the capital, Yerevan, stood almost exactly at the national average.

Armenians are voting in the country’s ninth convocation parliamentary elections, with 18 political parties and alliances competing for seats in the National Assembly. Polling stations will remain open until 8:00 p.m., when voting concludes and ballot counting begins.
