In the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, under the presidency of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, a discussion was held on the proposed Constitutional amendments of the Republic of Armenia. Present at the meeting were Diocesan Primates and Members of the Brotherhood of the Mother See.
Mr. Gagik Harutyunyan, President of the Constitutional Court, and Chairman of the Constitutional Reform Committee of the RA, was invited to the meeting. Mr. Harutyunyan presented the proposed revisions and reflected on the importance of the reforms, giving his commentary on the various points of the proposed constitutional amendments.
During the discussion, the clergymen presented their questions concerning the constitutional changes. The members highlighted the importance of public discussions on the document, expressing their hopes that the revised constitution and the intended amendments, taking into account the present challenges, would serve to reinforce the Homeland for the welfare of the nation.
