Preliminary data from Armenia’s parliamentary elections indicate a voter turnout of 58.46% in the capital, Yerevan, while participation rates across the country’s regions ranged from 54.60% to 66.67%.
According to the initial figures, the highest turnout was recorded in Syunik Province, where 66.67% of eligible voters cast their ballots. Vayots Dzor followed with 65.63%, while Tavush registered a turnout of 63.40%.
Among other regions, Aragatsotn reported a turnout of 61.70%, closely followed by Kotayk with 61.66%. Ararat Province recorded 59.87%, Lori 58.59%, and Yerevan 58.46%.
Lower participation rates were observed in Armavir, where turnout stood at 55.80%, Shirak at 55.46%, and Gegharkunik at 54.60%, the lowest among Armenia’s provinces.
The figures are preliminary and may be subject to revision as election authorities continue processing data from polling stations nationwide.
Armenians voted on Sunday to elect the country’s next National Assembly, with 18 political parties and alliances competing for seats in the legislature. Vote counting is currently underway across the country.
