Serzh Sargsyan will be sworn in as President of the Republic of Armenia at a special sitting of the National Assembly today. This will be the sixth inauguration in the Armenian history.
The President of the Republic shall assume office upon the taking of the following oath to the people, as prescribed by law, at a special sitting of the National Assembly: “I, assuming the office of the President of the Republic of Armenia, swear to unreservedly fulfill the requirements of the Constitution: to respect human and citizen’s rights and freedoms, to ensure the independence, territorial integrity and security of the Republic — to the glory of the Republic of Armenia and to the welfare of the people of the Republic of Armenia.”
