Taking a break from the busy schedule of Euro 2016 qualifiers, Armenia face France in a friendly tonight. The match takes place at Republican Stadium and kicks off at 8 p.m. Yerevan time.
The French are hosting the tournament and therefore do not go through qualifying, while Armenia are in a short group and will look to stay match-fit and fully prepared.
The teams have played a total of three times but the last time they met was in 1999 when France beat Armenia 3 – 2. France also won on the other two occasions that they played, both times they won 2 – 0.
Over the weekend Armenia drew 1 – 1 with Serbia in a friendly match. However, Armenia lost its four games before that, to Denmark, Latvia, Germany and Algeria.
France beat Portugal 2 – 1 on Saturday. Last month they drew 1 – 1 with Serbia and beat Spain 1 – 0. In July they were beaten 1 – 0 by Germany.
