Armenia’n’s incumbent Prime Minister and chairman of the Civil Contract party, Nikol Pashinyan, declared victory in the country’s parliamentary elections, announcing that his party will form the next government on its own.
Speaking at a press conference following the vote, Pashinyan said the results of the June 7 parliamentary elections had given Civil Contract a mandate to govern without coalition partners.
“Regular National Assembly elections took place on June 7, 2026, and as a result of the elections, the Civil Contract party has won and will form the government on its own,” he said.
Pashinyan noted that Civil Contract has received support from a larger number of voters than it did in the 2021 parliamentary elections, describing the result as both significant and demanding.
“I would like to emphasize that compared to 2021, the Civil Contract party has received the votes and confidence of a greater number of citizens of the Republic of Armenia. This is a responsibility that obliges us,” the prime minister said.
According to Pashinyan, the election outcome reflects citizens’ support for Armenian statehood, independence, peace and the country’s future development.
“This means that the citizen of the Republic of Armenia has stood by the state, stood by independence, stood by the future and stood by peace,” he said.
The prime minister described the result as a renewed public mandate for his government’s policies and pledged to continue efforts aimed at strengthening the state, ensuring stability and advancing a peace-oriented agenda.
The parliamentary elections were held on June 7, with voters electing members of Armenia’s National Assembly for the next legislative term.
