Presidential candidate Andrias Ghukasyan continues the hunger strike in front of the Armenian National Academy of Sciences.
Ghukasyan has declared he will stop the hunger strike only when his demand is satisfied. The candidate had earlier applied to the Central Electoral Commission, requesting to annul the registration of incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan.
“I think that only candidates, who do not violate the Constitution, are eligible to participate in the elections. I started the hunger strike on the first day of the election campaign, because I do not recognize the right of the candidate of the ruling party to run for President,” Andrias Ghukasyan said.
