Zelenskyy congratulates Pashinyan on election victory, calls for greater EU support for Armenia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has congratulated Armenia on holding democratic and free parliamentary elections and extended his congratulations to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on his party’s victory.

“I congratulate Armenia on holding democratic and free elections, and Nikol Pashinyan on his victory. This is also a victory for Armenia’s sovereignty, your independence, and your right to live the way you choose,” Zelenskyy wrote.

The Ukrainian president also expressed readiness to deepen cooperation between Ukraine and Armenia, emphasizing the importance of stronger international support for Yerevan.

Zelenskyy called on the European Union to provide tangible backing to Armenia and to ensure that citizens experience concrete benefits from closer ties with Europe.

“Now is precisely the time for the European Union to provide real support to Armenia and do everything necessary to ensure that people feel their lives are better thanks to their relationship with Europe,” he said.

According to Zelenskyy, the current moment represents an important test for the European Union’s engagement in the region.

“It is important not to lose time or miss opportunities,” he added.

The message comes as international leaders continue to congratulate Pashinyan and the ruling Civil Contract party following Armenia’s parliamentary elections, while reaffirming support for the country’s democratic development and growing cooperation with European partners.
