
During a state dinner held in Yerevan on the sidelines of the 8th Summit of the European Political Community, the leaders of Armenia and France exchanged prestigious state decorations, underscoring the deepening strategic partnership between the two countries.
By decree of Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan, French President Emmanuel Macron was awarded Armenia’s “Order of Glory.” The decoration was presented by President Khachaturyan during the official state dinner.
According to the decree, the award was bestowed in recognition of Macron’s significant personal contribution to strengthening and developing the traditional friendly relations between Armenia and France, as well as expanding and deepening bilateral cooperation.
In turn, by decision of French President Emmanuel Macron, Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan were awarded the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour.
President Macron personally presented the decorations during the state dinner.
The Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour is France’s highest state distinction. It was established in 1802 by Napoleon Bonaparte.
