Armenian companies showcase products at China International Import Expo in Shanghai

Armenia participated in the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE), held in Shanghai from November 5 to 10, with a unified national pavilion representing 12 Armenian companies from various sectors. The companies presented a total of 25 brands, highlighting Armenia’s growing export potential and creative industries.

The event, which aims to promote the sustainable development of small and medium-sized enterprises, brought together a record number of participants this year — more than 4,000 companies from 67 countries, including 290 from the Fortune Global 500 list.

Deputy Minister of Economy of Armenia Tatevik Sargsyan attended the expo, accompanied by Armenia’s Ambassador to China Vahe Gevorgyan and the country’s Trade Attaché in China Koryun Ghazaryan.

“Participation in this exhibition is highly effective and opens up new opportunities for our producers to enter new markets and enhance the visibility of Armenian-made products,” Deputy Minister Sargsyan said.

She noted that following last year’s expo, several Armenian companies were able to sign cooperation agreements, and some are now preparing to export their products to the Chinese market.

Within the framework of the exhibition, Sargsyan also took part in two thematic conferences — “Free Trade Zones Promote Industrial Innovation and Global Trade”, organized jointly by UNIDO and China’s Ministry of Commerce, and “Current Situation and Prospects for Agricultural Development in the Global South.”
