The Israeli government has unanimously approved Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar’s proposal to recognize the Armenian Genocide.
Sa’ar described the move as a “moral and historical obligation” and condemned Turkey’s policy of genocide denial, stating, “It is never too late to do the right thing.”
However, the final vote has been postponed, as the Knesset has entered its recess. According to political analysts, this marks a significant yet geopolitically sensitive step, with the proposal’s future expected to become clearer once the Knesset resumes its work.
