The 23rd edition of the Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival has come to a close with an awards ceremony held at the Cinema House in Yerevan, where the international jury announced the winners across the festival’s competition sections.
In the International Feature Competition, the festival’s top prize, the Golden Apricot, went to The Currents by Melagros Mumenthaler. The Silver Apricot was awarded to Past, Future, Continuous by Morteza Ahmadvand and Firouzeh Khosrovani, while London by Sebastian Brameshuber received a Special Mention from the international jury.
In the Regional Competition, the Golden Apricot was presented to Inside Amir by Amir Azizi. The Silver Apricot went to Dry Leaf by Alexandre Koberidze, which also received the FIPRESCI Prize awarded by the International Federation of Film Critics.
In the Koriz Short Film Competition, the Golden Apricot was awarded to Seruj Hovsepyan’s Dialogues Solitaire. The film also received the Gennady Melkonyan Special Prize. The Silver Apricot in the category went to Hovsanna Gevorgyan’s Paid Mourners.
The jury also presented Special Mentions to Relic by Sona Khachatryan and Together Alone by Arthur Sahakyan.
Additionally, The Father by Tereza Nvotová received the Armenia and Georgia Distribution Award, which includes €6,000 in funding to support the film’s regional distribution.
The festival concluded with the premiere screening of Godfrey Reggio’s Once Within a Time.
