The date of the meeting of Foreign Ministers in 3+3 format has been decided, Iran’s Ambassador to Armenia, Mehdi Sobhani told reporters today.
“There is a clear timeframe, it will be announced through diplomatic channels,” he said.
The Armenian Foreign Ministry had earlier said it was yet to decide on the participation in the meeting to be held in Turkey.
The “3+3” platform implies the participation of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia, Russia, Iran, Azerbaijan and Turkey. As before, Georgia refuses to join this platform.
The Ambassador reiterated the position of Iran that the road connecting Azerbaijan to Nakhijevan cannot be controlled by other countries.
Any control should be carried out within the framework of Armenia’s sovereignty, the Ambassador said. “We are not in favor of other countries coming here and trying to establish any kind of security and control,” he noted.
