
Armen Koloyan has been appointed Executive Director of Public Radio of Armenia for a 5-year term. The decision was made at the sitting of the Public Broadcaster’s Council today.
Armen Koloyan was earlier named winner of the competition announced by the Council. He will take office on August 8, 2024.
Born in Yerevan in 1957, Koloyan graduated from the Moscow State Pedagogical University in 1974.
He has worked in mass media since the 1980s. The main part of his journalistic biography is linked to the Armenian service of Radio Liberty, where he worked from September 1993 to July 2024.
During that time, he covered international events, hosted news broadcasts, commented on the domestic political life of Armenia, and also prepared radio and video programs on different topics – music, culture, sports, etc.
Armen Koloyan is the co-founder of the Armenian Saturday School in Prague. He is married and has two children.
